Who Are Herts & Beds Woodturners?
Herts & Beds Woodturners is a well-established club, currently with around 80 members and growing.
We are affiliated to the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB). The AWGB is an international nonprofit making organisation dedicated to the advancement and promotion of woodturning. Current membership is more than 50 clubs nationwide and in excess of 3000 individual members. We are proud to be a part of the AWGB.
Who Is The Club For?
Well that’s easy, it is for everyone with an interest in woodturning.
Anyone is welcome at the club, young or old, experienced turners, or those just starting out who have never done any turning before, male or female, or just want to know more about woodturning.
You may be surprised to learn that there are many exceptionally good female woodturners, so please do not assume it is a solely male preserve.
Our meetings are open to young people as well. The AWGB has already run pilot schemes with the Scout movement, but we are keen to get young people involved in woodturning, either via the Scouts or with schools. We are keen to inspire the next generation to become involved with woodturning.
You do not have to own a lathe or to be an active woodturner to become a member, you just have to be interested in woodturning or want to find out more.
